Decimal
Counting in tens, and writing down numbers in groups of ten is called decimal. It is called base10. This means 9 is the highest digit you can go to in a column before you need to add another column. A digit is what we call the written symbol for the numerals zero to nine.

Expanded value - Decimal
Break down of counting in decimals, we can easily read and calculate with decimal numbers because their place value is consistent, when a column is 'full' at nine, you reset that column to zero and add another column. 9 to 10, 99 to 100.
