Quick classroom login
It can be very difficult for younger students to remember their email and password to log in.
So Code Avengers have developed a quick classroom login tool for primary and elementary schools to use in class.
With this tool the student can select their name from a list, be automatically logged in and taken to a course location chosen by their teacher.
At anytime students can still login the other way, with their email and password.
Find the tool
You will find the Class Login Tool on the profile page, in the Teachers Tab.
Students will use www.codeavengers.com/login to login.
A useful preparation is to bookmark the link on each student device before class begins.

Here are the steps for the teacher:
- Start on the Teachers Tab
- Navigate to the Class Login.
- Class Name: Your list of classes will appear.
- Assign Link: Select the course and lesson you wish to send each class to.
- Enable Login: Toggle this on and off. When it is on (green and to the right) students can log in at http://www.codeavengers.com/login.
Class Name:
Here is where your list of classes will appear.
If you select the name of a class, the students in that class will display beneath the list of classes.
If the teacher does not manage any specific classes, the class login will work for all of the students inside of the school.
Assign Link:
Select the course and lesson you wish to send each class to.
- Clicking on the grey input box will open up a menu of our junior courses.
- Select the course your class is completing
- Select the lesson you wish to assign to this class.
- The link will appear as the assigned link for that class.
Enable Login:
Toggle the class login on and off.
- When green and with the toggle on the right login has been ENABLED. This means students can log in at http://www.codeavengers.com/login.
- When turned off, with the white toggle on the left, the session ends and students in that class can no longer login.
"Is this device connected to your school network?"
The quick class login works when the teacher and class are on the same wifi/internet network.
This pop up checks to see if the teacher is at school instead of being at home or on a public wifi, as we only want to store school IP addresses for the purpose of providing this service.
Select YES and the IP address will save in a list of addresses for your school.
When an account on that IP address goes to http://www.codeavengers.com/login it searches for any enabled logins on the same IP address.
Login students
- Once the teacher has enabled class login for a class, that class simply has to navigate to www.codeavengers.com/login.
- The student selects their class
- The student selects their name
- Then checks "YES" to confirm they are logging into the correct account.
They will be logged into Code Avengers on that device, (and logged out elsewhere) and they will be sent straight to the lesson assigned to the class.
How to end a session
If you toggle off the class login, students will still be logged into their accounts and able to continue their learning.
They simply can no longer use http://www.codeavengers.com/login to login to their accounts. The class login will automatically toggle off after 5 minutes or if you close the tab.
We recommend students log out of Code Avengers from their device at the end of each lesson, especially if the device is apart of a class set and does not belong to that student. Here is how to log off in the JR platform.
- If the menu is not expanded (as shown),
click the
>
to pull out the menu. - Open the settings cog
- Select the log out button

Tips
- If a student wishes to login you must either toggle this back on for their class or the student must log in the traditional way by selecting the top right LOGIN button and using their email and password.
- You can have multiple classes enabled at a time, the students select their class and then their name.
- You must assign the link before enabling login so that students are not sent to the profile page, instead of the lesson you wish them to do. Note that FREE accounts cannot access the subscription content so they will always be directed to the profile page if you have assigned them a link to anything but a DEMO.
"Login is off for your school, please enable login."
This is the message that will appear for students at http://www.codeavengers.com/login when the teacher has not enabled their class login.
Reasons a student may see this when you have enabled the login:
- Is the student account in the correct class? Check in the Class Login tab, by clicking on the class name and looking for the student in the student list. If student is not there, change their class code in student tracking If student is there check the scenario's below and if unresolved contact Support.
- Did you close the Class Login tab? The tab must be open for Class Login to be enabled, or has the 5 minute toggle to enable login expired?
- Are you on the same wifi/internet network? Some schools have separate teacher and student networks and currently this service requires you to be on the same network. We recommend you simply swap your internet to the student one or log into a spare student device connected to the same network. If you need support with this please contact your school's digital support person/team.
Using class login with PRO Students
This service is intended to be for students who use the JR courses. There are some cases where a PRO teacher might need this quick class login.
For example, if they are running a quick large-scale program like a code camp, or for supporting any disabled students, who may not be able to easily use a keyboard or remember their logins.
You can redirect a PRO level class by selecting the grey input box, closing the JR courses menu after it opens and manually typing in a course code, /js1.3
or /javascript/1#3
for example, will log in the class and direct them to JavaScript Level 1 Lesson 3.
